SDP Study Case

Check the following link on the SDP Case Study.

There is many SDP case studies in the book of Alexander Christakis's 'How People Harness their Collective Wisdom and Power to Construct the Future in Co-Laboratories of Democracy' uses the SDP approach to few case studies. I have one that really got me interested "anticipating alternative futures in energy efficiency". Using energy more efficiently allows energy supplies to stretch further enhances energy security and reliability, strengthens the economy, and protects public health and the global environment.

The SDP discovery phase will have participants generate and clarify the proposed actions for impacting the trends in a desirable way for the future of energy efficiency. Energy has been and will continue to be the catalyst for global economic growth and prosperity. I believe the future of energy is connected to innovative technologies.

TED Talks

This is about 17 minutes video that I really enjoyed because it has good information about the complex issues of our time and how these issues affect people, and the environment. In reality I feel that humane education is an approach to teaching and learning that addresses the global consequences of our lifestyles, behaviors, and the systems we support.

The author, Jamais Cascio, does a much better job than I could of applying the concept to the real business world. But, the key takeaway is be prepared for what could happen so that if and when it does happen, we know exactly what to do. Overall excellent video.

DELPHI PROCESSES

According to the COMPUTER BASED DELPHI PROCESSES by Murray Turoff and Starr Roxanne Hiltz. The The name "Delphi" was never a term with which either Olaf Helmer or Norman Dalkey (the founders of the method) were particular happy. Since many of the early Delphi studies focused on utilizing the technique to make forecasts of future occurrences, the name was first applied by some others at Rand as a joke. The straightforward nature of utilizing an iterative survey to gather information "sounds" so easy to do that many people have done "one" Delphi, but never a second. Since the name gives no obvious insight into the method and since the number of unsuccessful Delphi studies probably exceeds the successful ones, there has been a long history of diverse definitions and opinions about the method. Some of these misconceptions are expressed in statements such as the following that one finds in the literature: It is a method for predicting future events. It is a method for generating a quick consensus by a group. It is the use of a survey to collect information. It is the use of anonymity on the part of the participants. It is the use of voting to reduce the need for long discussions. It is a method for quantifying human judgment in a group setting.

Gabcast! SAAS #1

Today, most companies' host computers can be accessed by their employees whether in their offices over a private communications network, or from their homes or hotel rooms while on the road through normal telephone lines. I am very interested in the SAAS because it involves all activities that organizations, enterprises, and institutions undertake to protect the value and ongoing usability of assets and the integrity and continuity of operations. An effective SAAS requires identifying threats and then choosing the most effective set of tools to combat them.

I tech few course so I find Nine Hub to be a good tool because I can have as many courses as I need to and instructors and learners as I want. I also can have a group of instructors with different levels of access to courses. At the end of the day, I want to have online courses that can provide interaction and collaborative construction of content.

Technology promise

Chapter 4 in the book of technology promise talks about how our society moves online and the transforming power of Information Technology & E-Commerce. I have few years of experience with E-Commerce. In reality it is about using the power of digital information to understand the needs and preferences of each customer and each partner to customize products and services for them, and then to deliver the products and services as quickly as possible. Personalized, automated services offer businesses the potential to increase revenues, lower costs, and establish and strengthen customer and partner relationships.

An e-commerce platform should be the foundation of technologies and products that enable and support electronic commerce. With it, businesses can develop low-cost, high-value commerce systems that are easy to grow as business grows. An e-commerce platform’s breadth should also be unmatched, ranging from operating systems to application servers, to an application infrastructure and development tools, and to a development system.
